Bromley Borough Gospel

The Bromley Borough Gospel is a borough-wide initiative to create and distribute 10,000 bespoke copies of Mark’s Gospel across Bromley, featuring photographs of local landmarks, churches, green spaces, schools and community life from around the borough. Through this project, churches across Bromley are working together to place the story of Jesus into people’s hands in a way that feels local, accessible and rooted in the communities we share.

These Gospels will be given away by churches across the borough during the Christmas season. In the new year, churches will also host Discovery Bible Study groups and community book clubs in a variety of settings, including church buildings, homes, cafés and other local venues, creating opportunities for people to read Mark’s Gospel and explore the story of Jesus together.

Why this project

This is a significant moment to offer people the good news of Jesus in a fresh and inviting way. The project grows out of a shared desire among Bromley churches to work together in mission, building on existing relationships, borough-wide prayer and a commitment to make Jesus known across our communities.

The Bromley Borough Gospel is designed not only to give away copies of Mark’s Gospel, but also to open the door to conversation, reflection and discovery. Our hope is that many people across Bromley will have the opportunity to engage with the life and teaching of Jesus for themselves.

How it works

This special edition of Mark’s Gospel will combine the biblical text with imagery that reflects the life and character of Bromley. By connecting the Gospel story with familiar places and scenes from across the borough, the project aims to make this resource both distinctive and warmly accessible.

Following the Christmas distribution, churches will offer simple, welcoming spaces where people can continue exploring Mark’s Gospel, ask questions and discover more about Jesus in community with others.

Working together

Transform Bromley Borough is a relational network of churches working together to see Bromley transformed by the love of Jesus. In partnership with Hope Together, this project expresses TBB’s commitment to prayer, healthy relationships, generosity, missional collaboration and borough-wide partnership.

We are praying that the Bromley Borough Gospel will lead to meaningful conversations, fruitful discovery groups and lives transformed through encountering Jesus.
